so it seems like lately a lot the new and big artists around here are either going "abstract," "deep," or electro-housey with their sound... What i want to know is: what ever happened to good ol' head-nodding, trip hoppy beats at a downtempo with the snare or clap on 2 & 4, funky basslines, simple melodies, lots of ethnic drums, breakdowns, buildups, and weird sound FX??? maybe throw in some hindi vocal hooks, tuvan throat singing, a didgeridoo, & an alan watts sample? or any spoken word regarding psychedelics, shamanism, religion/spirituality, pop quantum physics, folklore, futurism, UFOs, or Aliens.
yes, yes, i know its been done & fits into a formula, but its still a gooooood formula! what can i say, maybe i'm just a simple kinda guy? I know a lot of you think this sound is played-out & stale, but i don't think its as widely overdone as you seem to think... I mean, psytrance is still cool sometimes and that sound is wayyyyyyy more played out than what I just described. I guess what i'm trying to say is that dancey psychill deserves to make a bigger influence on the whole than it has thus far.
for example, a few tracks i'm not really hearing any new stuff similar to would be:
Eat Static - "UFO over Trenchtown"
Gaudi - "Sufani"
Kumba Mela Experiment - "Elephant Trax"
Abakus - "Nightwalker"
MOAR PLZ!!!
[/rant]
excuse me for that guys, i've just been having a hard time this evening finding enough new music that i connect with to satisfy my vicious PsyDM habit and needed to vent a little. Maybe i'm just overlooking everything I want to find?

I'm another "dancey psychill" lover that hasn't had enough of this either. Surely there's room for more!
As mentioned by Kane, I thought that Chilled C'Quence - Dream Triggers was excellent.
One more from this year though:
Eastern Spirit - Lucid Dreaming (MikelaBella)
