Haha, this is EXACTLY how I used to put into words the average death metal riff. (The woos being the artificial harmonics) |

Can't focus on mundane every day tasks as I play some riff in my head, all the fucking time.
Sleeping less to make music.
Cleaning less to make music.
No bad side effects on personal life though, my best mate is in Disco Hooligans, so we get to hang out a lot, and women like a guy who has something in life that he is very passionate about, so personal life is going well.

yes, this is a serious problem. a lot of times music feels like the most important thing in the world and almost everything not related to it just bores me to death. this becomes a problem when it comes to maintaining relationships with family and friends. i get super irritated when i'm asked to help with some menial thing or when i have to go to some social gathering (birthdays, whatever). and of course this tends to happen right when i feel particularly inspired or when i got some new toy or figured out some technique. i've contemplated just getting it over with and cutting most human contact on many occasions.
the internal conflict continues...

HAHAHA. DUDE. You know what sucks. When I'm in the middle of an awesome mix, and my girlfriend calls and wants to hang out. And I'm like, yeah, ok, in like 10 minutes, thinking that I'll just want to work for 10 more minutes...
but then when I hang out with her my mind is still on the song, and I'm not completely with her for the rest of the night .. at all.
Just thinking about that tune. Then I lay in bed at night with that KBBB KBBB in my head and can't sleep.
I don't believe there is a solution to this problem. Cutting off social interactions seems like such a good idea sometimes. I guess then we'd just be living life in a trance X_x

i always want to throw a compressor on my tv every time a segment ends and some annoying commercial comes on blaring and it's like 4db louder than whatever was before it. these spikes are in desperate need of some even-outing....

Thats not bad mixing, thats intentionaly so that if you leave the sofa, youŽll still be able to hear the commercial, which is paying for the show you were watching.
Reality sucks!

i am fully aware of this. which is what makes it a "bad habit" in the first place. a normal person isn't occupied by this nonsense and simply continues to think about whatever she just saw. or goes to the kitchen to make a sandwich. you know. normal stuff. and i'm sitting there, rocking back and forth with a bit of drool accumulated in the corner of my mouth, while disjointly muttering "short attack...low threshold... hard knee" and devising plans of sidechaining the tv to my head so next time this fucking commercial comes on, i can just continuously hit my head against the wall.
in other words, lighten up, dude. our reality rules.
