If we could get a poll please..
I use Vista, I know what you think but it just seems to work with everything I throw at it. XP seems so old these days, but Windows 7 has some compatibility issues with older software for me. I have windows 8 also but only for everyday tasks.
I presume all the pro producers still use XP? |

Windows 7, Cubase 5 because it works fine.
Have poked around with Ableton but just didn't have the patience to master the application.

10.8.2 on my MBP
Windows 7 and OS X 10.8.2
Both installed on the same PC  see: http://myhack.sojugarden.com/guide/
What I like on OS X (not talking about Mac hardware here) is:
+ super easy backup and creation of bootable backups
+ color labels in Finder
+ System File Dialog can act as drag target ! (open file dialog)
+ easy persistent custom folder icons, http://iconverticons.com/online/
+ terminal
+ mail
+ finder
+ stable GUI , no flicker, cleaner
+ I can have one system for everything (surfing, coding, music)
+ I love the OS X Keyboard Shortcuts!
+ Easy Color Management (try setting the color temperature on windows)
+ OS X is fun to work with

What I don't like on OS X:
- some apps are less stable than Windows 7 (I had plenty of macs...
- Apple's Company policy

What I like on Windows 7:
+ Rock solid, never had any crashed or GUI glitches on Studio One like those: http://screencast.com/t/zQPOewwe
+ Even old Software runs on W7, try that on OS X
+ runs on any new PC without any effort
+ games
What I don't like on Windows 7:
- I have to set up multiple Systems to get the optimal performance e.g: one for coding, one for the internet etc.
- Backup is not as convenient (bootable clones from usb drive?) as on OS X
- Windows 7 GUI looks not as clean (imo, i prefer OS X fonts etc...) as OS X, On W8 it get even uglier, no aero glass, no rounded corners, no shaddow  http://facebook.com/ansolas

i heard lion was the most stable for logic, although i have no experience with it.
i use both mountain lion and win7 (ableton on both) and i have no problems whatsoever.
can someone plz say why xp is mor stable?..maby incase your running cubase 4 or live 6 ?:) |

Snow Leopard on mac & Windows XP on pc. Because seems the best combo for me, I love too much z3ta, one of the reasons I still got pc. Better system would be most probably Linux but it sucks when making sounds.
