figure out your own personal way of applying this to audio add psychedelic experience (not necessarily substance related).
Also keep in mind that form follows function. A sound is nothing without working in cooperation with its other fellow sounds.
The x factor however is your own personal weirdness this is where you add your own personal flavor.
No good way to describe it. Just shut your eyes and dont examine the sounds examine yourself and the fluctuations inside of you physically and psychologically. There is no specific way since we are all psychologically different and we have learntified to process things in our own way. However, There are ways that effect and unify more people than others.
The best you can do is figure out what makes a sound the most psychedelic to you and hope that that works for others as well.
When you are sitting at that computer you have a constant cycle of information flowing through you. In order to process these things free from the onslaught and influnce the outside world delivers us every day it is extremely effective to just take 10 minutes to listen and feel and make sure there is the absolute minimum amount of distractions. this includes other senses such as feelings physically or sights or smells anything that will borrow your focus from from you really connecting to yourself when your mind starts to wander. You need to find the way these sounds are effecting your mind and body anything that isnt aiding in that needs to be put on hold or removed from that session. Same principle as sensory depravation take away the other senses you temporarily free up your brain for a higher peak performance through your new found lowered level of distraction metal static.
So what makes a sound psychedelic? you do with your own interperetation of it, but you must find this massive abstraction within yourself by looking through the distraction and figure out how to convey that to people that are interested in hearing what your idea of psychedelic is maybe they will agree.
