Some tips?

Always wash your hands after going to the loo.

Never have sex without a condom unless you've both been tested for stds.

Never do A2P.

Always let ladies go first.

A good remix?.
To have the original vibe intact but with the influences of your own style and production?.           .

yep, though i think the later is more important than the former. as long as it has some passing resemblance to the original and is not just a completely unrelated track, anything else goes. cause some people just put a different kick underneath it and call it done, cause they are "preserving the original vibe." i guess i kind of look at it the same way i look at covers by bands: if it sounds exactly like the original, then what the fuck is the point?

but more importantly, don't eat yellow snow!           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

It's an old joke but couldn't resist

As a listener (I'm yet to get to remix) I think some of the main sounds need to be kept, but adjusted to make it sound new but give a sense of familiarity.

I also think changing the complete style can be good, IMO the best remix album I've heard in my 32 years on this planet is Hallucinogen In Dub. No matter that the original tracks are classics, what Ott did with them is amazing.

Another good show of remixing for me in the techno genre is this album http://www.discogs.com/Paul-Woolford-Renaissance-Platform/release/2330168 where he was given the original stems of all the tracks gently remixed then to suit the mix. It's an amazing album.           Cuntus Maximus.

Use some/main original samples.
Always make your own kick, bass, hats, snare.
Try to keep the original vibe, but also add your vibe, they gave you the parts for a reason.

A good remix starts by having the different parts or midis, not by adding stuff to the mastered wav. (allthough you can pull this trick in some genres like breakbeat and minimal)           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog
