Love this track and want to try write something in the same key as this but I cant seem to get it right?

2 options to determine the key:

1) software called mixmeister or something similar

2) the ear of a canadian boy called Nick or similar

It's in F minor, with a i, iv, VII progression going on.

Scale of F minor: F G Ab Bb C Db Eb F

i: Fmin (F Ab C)
iv: Bbmin (Bb Db F)
VII: Eb (Eb G Gb)
