and I'm just talking about what happens when you put music in 1st place priority and let it take you over completely.
which does not make you even close to 'that' good, it just makes you a full time musician. ;D

Yes, it is a necessity to put music as your first priority to increase the likelihood to become that good.

Whether to become that good or not, it is another story. ;-)

Hmm I would actually advise to sleep MORE instead of less, reason being your brain functions much better when you're rested and your studio time ends up being far more productive. Cut back on partying, or on watching tv or whatever in favour of producing, but don't cut back on sleep.

ultraviolence - the idea of not sleeping is to get into a druged state of mind.

check all the side effects hehe

though i think its better to sleep well and controll your mood in other ways.
why not just sleep well and if you want to feel a little crazy, smoke a joint!

i use to be up all night long, sometimes staying up for over 35h, its not a good idea, its not productive at all..

to become that good you need to be in focus, so smoking a joint isnt the best idea either.
im pretty sure you learn better without any drugs at all, good food, good sleep, good social life, good physical exercise. and lots of love, both giving and getting..

on the other hand when it comes to art, having a life thats shitty and everything just going against you can probably result in something special.

to express your self you dont need to know about the technical side of things. well if you just use your voice or a guitar, but for computers you need to know a thing or two. well technical can mean so many things when it comes to music.

so the question is, what do you want to become THAT good in? we all have different abilities.

a little off topic but i want to say in a studio with good monitors and acoustic, you ll focus mostly on arrangement ,style,MAKING MUSIC most than production...i mean everyone can have a top production in a good studio and it s very easy when it s years you try on shitty monitors...so what it take to become that good? just the studio.

PoM - yeah i think you are correct, thats my big problem.

i really would need a studio if i should be serious with this stuff.
a place to focus in and just forget everything else.

and with that i mean a studio that you know the ins and out´s of, with everything connected to suite your needs.

I think you should only be making music for the fun, to keep it as an enjoyable hobbie rather than obsession. That way it will probably result in a much more natural sounding finished product, rather than something that you lost sleep, your girlfriend and everything else in life over. Also, sometimes the most psychedelic sound comes from simplicity... Don't worry, cannabis, take it easy and everything should be fine.. also a couple connections here and there might help. But most important: think of becoming BIG as a way to share your art, not to profit from it

The most important factor in life is social. What determines the norms in society. Obviously money is needed, but to a point.

A catalyst to success in Trance production should therefore be to live with people who also have these goals. Together, the trance family can further eachother to distances that they were not able to on their own or could have but alone.

Find what you want to be in life and connect with people that have the same goals. Thats what i'll be doing when I'm done university. (or maybe now...... who knows) Whether I will devote my life to trance is a different issue.
