So, as an example, I've had a lot of feedback from this track in particular .. I think it represents my newer direction well ( thanks for listening ! )

Dragon told me that my style was like Furious meets Squarepusher, which I thought was pretty damned awesome thing to say
I've been told that my live set style is like acid techno/IDM at darkpsy tempos.

I'm a big fan of hard funky melodic full-On. In the past I was very heavily into the melodic "israeli" style (Sesto Sento, Perplex, etc.). I've become more into the harder funkier, more electro influences styles. These days I like a lot of: Cosmonet, 220v, Life Style, Biotouch, Animalis, Biotouch, GMS, Insomnia, Slug, Dual Core, Bionix, Mojo, Shanti, XSI, Growling Machines, Wrecked Machines, Sub-6, Waio, Domestic, (still) Perplex, (some) Sesto Sento, Bizzare Contact, Black & White, the list can keep going. But I like music all over the spectrum.
In terms of DJing, I have a few different styles I've played recently. First and foremost, would be the stuff "closest to my heart" and that includes many of the artists listed above; hard funky electro techie full-on.
I've also been doing a fair number of progressive gigs lately around 126-134bpm. For this I play on the techier side, with a bit of an electro tinge. I like artists including: Brisker & Magitman, Riktam and Bansi, Khainz, Duca, Alter Breed, Weekend Heroes, Ticon, Antix/Fiord, Perfect Stranger, Yotopia, Miki Litvak, Ido Ophir, D-Nox, Beckers, Piatto, and many others.
And then I have a new area I've been exploring in a somewhat limited fashion, and that is "progressive full-on" around 136-142bpm. I've been working this into a couple sets, working up to my usual 145 stuff. I see this stuff as having a great deal of potential in the club scenes. Some of this is more on the progressive side of sounds, while other tracks sound more like full-on. Then you have people experimenting into different areas entirely. Some of my favorites in this category include: NEELIX (his new album is amazing!), Cosmonet (some of his self proclaimed "Funkadelic" tracks), Insomnia (some of his slower tracks), GMS, Last Men Standing, and some of the Ferbi Boys' new stuff. Overall, this is a less developed sub category, and I'm getting a lot of tracks from artists who normally make other types of music. But I think that it will grow a lot over time. Already, you're getting people in the mainstream EDM scene including Simon Pattterson, Christopher Lawrence, John OO Fleming, etc., who are playing in this BPM range usually.
As for production, I'm mainly focusing on creating hard, "Funkadelic" Electro-Full-On with a Goa tinge of flavor. But, I have worked on a bit of progressive trance and some techno before. In the end, I could see myself making a bit from all over the spectrum. However, if I had to pick one, it's definitely the full-on around 145, very melodic, very "funkadelic."

Correct me if im wrong.. but it seems that most of you range between the prog/melodic/psychedelic/goa style, and the deep/forest trance. There doest seem to be much in the middle ..i.e Twilight psy.
Ive also had a look at quite a number of the clips you guys have on facebook.. and the music always seems to fall in the first category i mentioned (sorta in the 140-145bpm range. The Nano style stuff)
How is twilight psy usually received by your crowds?
Dont really know international twilight artists, but here's an SA guy labelled as being twilight

My friend Evan (Deli-Fi) is new on the scene here, but he is VERY VERY VERY into the South African Twilight sound. If you like this music, and you live in Southern California, definitely come check out the next few parties with him playing.
Daksinamurti played an AWESOME Twilight Psy set at last year's Gemini. It was my first experience with the style, and I thought it was GREAT at the timeslot.
I like some South African artists who border more into the Full-On category too. Slug is a great one (for something closer to twilight), as is of course Protoculture.

whaaaa?! PROTOCULTURE? proto is far from full on or twilight. he's nano and very proggy. And after his last set, im going to say he's leaning towards house more and more these days.
slug and shift are of course the masters of twilight.. and yes, I agree, Daksinamurti plays a killer twilight morning set. He graced us with his presence again in feb this year.
Will have a looksie on the interwebz for deli-fi, thanks

Yeah I know Protoculture is different. I only mention him because he's South African, and on a label with Twilight artists.
And in the past Protoculture has been pretty Full-On. Today he's more progressive, but still not quite as "progressive" as other stuff. He's somewhat in between.
Predominantly nighttime hard psychedelic trance, but I occasionally get bored and do other stuff...

There's certainly a place for Twilight/Full On here, but the guys who make it haven't posted. Do a search for Ctrl+Alt+Del and Earworm.

That's his soundcloud. That's not really a twilight mix though. Right now he's a DJ, not a producer yet.
ahh fuckin sick!!! I dig his style hugely. only listened to the first 25min of his set.. but really really good. Heard some good old azax, bliss, and painkiller in there including my favourite track of all time - looneybin.
Im not so sure id classify this set as SA twilight though. Needs to be far dirtier.. and grungier.. and grittier.
but regardless of style, it would have me jamming the last of my marbles into the ground!! thanks..please pass the word onto him
