I missed the thread, it'd be nice if people who hasn't discovered it get to express themselves about it

for me psychedelic is all about being trippy..all that life style that runs away from ordinary life, that able us to reach other levels of counsciouness, with or without drugs, but the main idea is to be able to transcendencate from the regular life and live our dreams.

Hi everybody!
I decided to write this post because I was thinking the other day that psychedelia means different things to different people, so it would be nice if everybody expressed what psychedelia means for you.
Some people for example associate the concept with mind, for them psychedelia it is something that stimulates the mind or makes it enter into different states of conciousness.
For others psychedelia is tied with soul and spirit, in this case psychedelia would be something that makes us remember our spiritual origin as inmortal souls inhabiting a body for a limited amount of time.
In my humble opinion both terms are appropiate because the mind is a part of our soul and the stimulation of it could lead us to higher states of consciousness where it is possible to become aware of our true nature as individual souls that are a small part of the infinite spirit which sustains everything and from where everything was originated.
So what does psychedelia mean for you?
how would you describe a psychedelic state of consciousness?
what has made you enter into this state, it was music? meditation? the sense of unity that you feel when you connect with other people @ parties? the love you can feel when a beautiful sunrise greets you in an amazing party?
share your experiences!!

Some of you maybe are aware of the work of carlos castaneda.
So in that vein of thought, for me a psychedelia is very inner mind experience and its special powerfull when its around our lives.
For me a heavy psychedelic expierence was the momment i realize death is behind you all the time, that it can take you to the other world and you must be ready, so when she ask Are you ready to leave this world, I can answer YES, because I have live my life out of fears and I have made the things I love with love and giving my soul in the way.
Its a kind of confrontation with your other self, or in existencialist philosophy the battle between being and not being. We exist but we only can achieve full "being" if we work out the path to our ideal or desired or loved "self", every moment we dont do this we stop being.

Very interesting post Mr. Forza!
For me, mind can't be part of our soul, since its the same thing. I do not believe on human's "true nature", human is determined by its own freedom and circumstance.
Is it possible to talk about an infinite spirit that developed origination of everything, if the term infinite has no start?.
I can't seem to find an accurate concept of psychedelia...
I see it as a mind state, where the passion of perception and rational process seem to act under some kind of kaleidoscopic intangible prism, and, as a consequence, delivers a different manifestation of reality.
I see psychedelia as a part of our daily life, where you are always capable of making an instant abstraction of what you are perceiving, "nihilizating" time and space, and as a consequence, lead mind into a higher state of consciousness.
Psychedelia can be found not only on the passion of itself, but also on (my favourite pArt) the psychedelic art!.
I find that the most interesting part of psychedelia, the expression of itself through art.
Greetings!

^^ agree on many thing, but I dont understand what are you reffering at with "nihiizating", its a very particular concept, I wonder If we instead can have an existencialist perspective or a rationalist or any other.
For example Dostoevsky's Notes from the Undergrund will be a nihilist-psychedelic point of view, Sartre's La Nausée could be an existensialist one, kafka's The judgement will bea a surreal one...
All of them are deep exercises of imagination and soul exploration.
