the snare and hihats are a bit to low. eq them with lowcut (especialy snare) and push them a bit more up in the mix, and a very short reverb to them, just a little bit. get yourself a plugin for transient modulation - much easier to use as standart compressors and much more satisfying effekts on your drums/hihats.
and it think the advice from SCM is realy good (i didnt read them all)
for compression. put a good one (c4 is nice and easy to get for the start) on the masterchannel and produce directly through it from the beginning. i know this is against all rules, just do it (but dont shift parameters there if something went wrong with your track too much there, the mix must do it. this can help you in many ways. export it without the mastereffects for later mastering.
