That is a really good question, but considering the moderator hasn't been anywhere near a pc in the last copule of months, it's just not surprising.  Antoehr strange thing, is that, well, you just wouldn't believe how sceptical SA ppl are about talking about trance on the internet.  Especially in public, it's a strange phenomenon.

Maybe sceptical is the wrong word, people just don't like to use the net for forums and discussions, I think maybe there's a worry about it not staying underground if they talk about the scene on the web, but to be honest, trance just isn't that underground in and around Cape Town anymore.  People who haven't been to a trance party, have heard about it and want to go to at least one. While it's not everybody's cup of tea, it's known about and accepted as a big part of the party season.

But of course that's just pure speculation, but for whatever the reason, SA people in general (and there are many exceptions) tend to be internet shy.

I really hope that's the case, I dunno some of the people I spoke to were going on about how the net was bad news and were displaying general signs of technophobia, so I was starting to get worried.  Jason, are you South African as well?  You use lank like a South African :).

While that is true, it's probably not the best way to express it.  ;)

Things are pretty cheap if you come from overseas, but for us, it's quite expensive to buy things, especially trance music (about R160 a disc) and a decent mixer goes for about R2 500
and CDJ's are about R1 800 (the cheap gemini's).
Pioneers set you back about R3 500.

In case you're wondering R = Rands (our "beloved"
currency).

Damien.

Heya Jason.
Hope all is well....
and thank you for bringing that up.....the question of 'skin colour'.
I didn't mean anything deep with it.
I, too, am well aware that trance breaks through all kinds of divides.
I apologise sincerely for bringing up the subject folks!

Much love
Respect.
