Sometimes when i check at the waveform on artists tracks i can see there is a small audio segment between the kick and bass. Anyone who knows what it can be? |

Hi!
Yes, it could be a high hat that has a faster attack than the kick drum (if the kick has an attack, it's "snap" will be "delayed" by the attack amount), or it could be the tail of the previous sounds, or a bit of reverb in the master track (maybe applied during mastering), or even something completely different..
But, we'll never know unless you point out an example to us! (like, audio + waveform)

you're better off using your ears then your eyes while analyzing music from your references. trying to match some sound based on its waveform rather then the sound pretty much qualifies as "going down the rabbit's hole" - and we all know that hole is time consuming and not much productive. So think about it. Could be a million different things. What we know for sure is that you're obsessing about something that's a bit pointless and will lead you nowhere.
