.... I thing that psychodelic trance is mutch more creative and more mature type of composition and just have unique sweetnes and brutalyty at the same time... give me somme of your thods....

everybody look on psy on there own way.... good 4 u if you think it's something special, it is... but there is also many great stuf exept psy trance....

good psychedelic is defenetly not trendy full-on. And yes, there is a lot of good psychedelic ideas when u dig araund, into other music "gardens".

Talking about pure psy.... not the "trendy fullon" as cuich said.... it has much more power than other genres, and it is very melodic with not-ordinary melody lines in the same time. If I have to compare it with other genres, I would say it is closest to metal (don't laugh, read  ). Both genres have the characteristics above (powerfull, melodic and not-fancy  ). I think this is the reason why there are a lot of metalheads that now listen or produce trance.... I was (and still am in my heart ) a metalhead... |

i coulden't agree more with you ..it is like i am talking with my friend who is used to be metalhead just like me ...but now day's he is psyhead..but real psy and Goa of course not this generic full on or drum+ kick + bassline + random squeling =dark psy... but real
psychedelic melodic trance and what U have been said about melodies is pure truth couse those melody progression and harmony is
what atracts people who came from metal world...into a trance...(also I think we like twisted screaming melodies like early infected mushroom ...and metal is full of this kind of stuff) I am listening metal even nowdays but i can't listen it for more than 1 hour in a roll couse drumer starts to piss me off couse in all those years i got used to 4/4 measure couse it is the most natural way for music to develop and for build up of a track and it is good for travelling with music of course...couse there are no suprises it gives a certain feel of security for you couse you know what is going to happend and when and then just relax yourself and start to travel into a sanctum of psychedelic
trance music...also vocals in metal disturbes me a lot couse i have no need for suggestion in music and certain vocals creates a certain state of mind (like tool i like there music a lot it is great but vocal puts me in some kind of anxiety and neurotic state of mind )
stay psychedelic m8 and metal head of course

Take the solo from a death metal band ( http://www.midisite.co.uk/midi_search/children_of_bodom.html)
put it in your favourite sequencer , use your favourite instrument , add a bit of delay and voilla ! We have GOA

HEHE that is true my friend there was an album in the transsformation stage of me going from metal to trance and that album was from black metal band rotting christ -about dead poem and i have found simillar melodies in my first GOA trance tracks that i have been discovering and it has been defined my musical taste in trance way pretty much...
in that time all the people laugh at me couse they didn't seen connection between something positive ,eteric spiritual and supitle like GOA trance and something ''evil''like black metal ...couse like some people only hear TUP---TUP---TUP---TUP in trance music they only have heared
some noisy mayhem in black metal...but i think that Goa + Metal gives me a certain balance couse you know every one needs a Jing and Jang positive and negative ...and that is it ...also i know a guy who has remixed a track named solitude from ICED EARTH and RMX is the purest most emotional spiritual Goa with all that twisted psychedelic spices and when people heared original instrumental metal track they can't belive that kind of transsformation ...but connection is there for sure couse i know a lot of ex metal heads whose are now in trance and i can also tell
if some one tells me which is his/her fav trance projects i can tell that person ohhh you where a metal head before...and the latest example of that kind of person is artist Kanc from this forum... 
i am glad that there are more people who seen that connection between metal and trance and your post about children of bodom becoming a Goa trance track puted a big smile on my face
couse for years people laugh at me and thought that i am mental case becouse of my point of view about this music...and i knewed
i was right

psytrance is like everything else: MUSIC. We use music to make some atmosphere around, to feel better and more relaxed. Every genre makes different atmosphere, and every of them is unique, so as psytrance. So, from my perspective, music is made to listen and dance and not to seek some other dimensions and psytrance spirit stuff, it has no connection with today psytrance, its just money! |
