When you play about three gigs a week, and the promoters actually pay you well
Before that the only thing one should worry about is getting the next track better than the previous one, which actually is the nicest thing about music. Well, it would help if one could actually quit one´s dayjob |

something that's also good to promote yourself is a good remix of a known of +/- known track
and as troll said, if you play a lot... usually something that label owners want is known names. if you make a name by playing live
but... partyh promoters want known names too sooo... if you got lot's of tracks in V/As or even a full album you'll get more gigs

| True. But if you don´t piss people off and are yourself, the chanses are you are going to meet more people which of whom somebody might be a promoter. This is a really lousy reason to be yourself and not pissing people off, so have real resons. People do notice.This is much about trust and respect, so if you burn your bridges once, you might have burned all of them forever.
