Autotune Vocals from Wanna be Vocalists who can't sing a right note !!!!! Then stand on stage and think they are superstars while pretending to sing playbackvocals ...           www.myspace.com/freakulizer

When it's obvious that the producer only cared about the leads/ambient noise and the rhythm is a complete afterthought or just the same thing copypasted through the whole track.

I hope artists do exactly what they want to do and do not pay attention to people's 24/7 "expert" advise           www.beatagency.dk

Too many tracks are too long. 8-9 minutes is not necessarily better than 5-6 minutes if the track has 3 minutes of filler, lame gimmicks, or mindless repetition. A better mastery of short form composition would ultimately benefit most artists and listeners.

I prefer 8-9 minutes tracks coz they give the artist more time for their buildup and also to add more to the track.

Yes if you just add nonsense to it even a 5 minute track is turnoff.           Mushrooms make you do crazy stuff. Look at Mario he jumps on animal heads and fights with dragons.

Actually, if you listen to some Donna Summer tracks like 'I'm in Love' the bassline is pretty good and the groove goes longer than most modern psytrance before a breakdown or change. I actually get more trance out of her tracks than a lot of modern psytrance.

it's not her tracks that are the problem, it's the 54305349534 ones that use the same tanananananana nunanannanananiiii nenanenanena           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Having stepped out of listening to any trance music for the last few months and listening to DnB, techno and non-electronica (jazz, funk, rock, heavy metal, classical) and yesterday listening to a variety of trance again, I can only say that I find that this music is very much lacking progressing a lot of the time and to me most of the modern sounds just come across as emotionless.

I think the one thing turning me off trance now-a-days is simply lack of emotion across 99.9% of releases!           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

I would have to agree with this. Although techno and dubstep are pretty emotionless too. Theres some really great DnB coming out these days for sure.
The new Antix album has some good emotion but so much stuff has that generic technoish klonked the fuck out sound.
I hope that tracks will eventually get back to better stories and richer more intelligent textures.
Ive been getting back to my early 2000s prog stuff and it is 100 x better than 95% of the stuff coming out today.

to the topic,
The thing I hate the most is when a track is sounding so great then you hear a sample from Fox News Shepard Smith or something else completely meaningless.

the one thing that turns me off a track is any sound usually used in cheap eurotrance & machina

I must admit that lot of new producers use sounds that are totally cheap (pad, lead, vocal etc...)
I like goa trance with real goa vibes,
not too dark, not fluffy, but epic, groovy, fat bassline, ethereal melodies, complex structures and no sound used by mainstream eurotrance

check this:

I upload top quality goa trance & ambient musics illustrated as good as I can.
selected among thousands of tracks I have between 1990 to 2010,
and I have a lot

quality ... quality ... quality

best vibes to all

I really cannot stand this full-on bass which goes up and down (chord progression). It sounds like a bad aerobic exercise video.
