i would say at the very very least 10 years.

tweeters and parts can blow, and you can replace them... the system itself should last a long time.

Well, my neighbour bought a pair of Event TR8 XL last week.

Immediately after turning them on, one of the speakers went really hot at the backplate, smelled like burned plastic or something, and was DEAD!

The life of this brandnew Monitor was about 2 seconds...           http://www.myspace.com/axonic

it depends

WHen I bought my monitors and played to loud the highly compressed domestic - limited addiction track one of the speakers went down hehe (then the kickand bass got in after the sweep sound).

Total blackout in my house. But i didnt lost any the guaranty and the service fixed it in few days. The Voltage transformator was killed hehe.

What monitors - alesis m1 active 620. Now i dont play to loud ;- ) and everything is ok. Hope to have them ok until the next monitor setup.
