3 answers to the initial question of this thread:
1) Austria is a very good place to party. We have parties every weekend, usually 2 or 3 per weekend and you do not have to worry about "the others" bothering you. In a trancer's guide 1 or 2 years ago Austria was listed second only to Goa, India, in terms of "party density per population".
2) Germany: The big festivals in germany (voov, full moon) are the most liberal places in the world I have seen in my life! But: "Th e others" want you to keep it to that party. So do not bring anything OUT of the party.
3) Don't worry too much: I was at soulclipse in march. I went there awefully worried about "turkish laws". Nothing happened. And everything was there.
I was at the Boom in Portugal in August. Same thing. A garden of eden of now rules, laws, or any interference from the outside.
I have really come to trust that the organizers figure that out before the event with whoever needs to be figured out with.
Conslusion: It's all good in Europe!

-Never had any problems at festivals in Europe either. Imo even the cops outside festivals like VooV are pretty slack and are just there becauese they have to be. We got pulled out 2 years in a row while leaving..what do they make us do? An alcohol test.....

-Australia has a very friendly party crowd and some safe, isolated locations...its just that the cops are pretty vicious...sniffer dogs on public transport is scary stuff.

-Did not have any police problems in Goa, crazy crowd, but heard a lot of stories of police becoming more and more vigilant.

-Really want to experience Japan and Israel

What about Russia? Ive heard police raids are very common there

not only drugs, we are talking about policy of places.. of countries
i ment this topic is about beutiful places, quelity of production, quellity of crowd, and ofcourse the country policy about parties in nature, and police using irrational force against the ppl..

I point out drugs because that is probably what causes 95% of the friction against these gatherings (and other type of parties as well where they consume to much alcohol which is also a drug). I mean come on, if we were only consuming oatmeal cookies and milk in our parties I just don’t think we would be worrying that much about regulations or police busting our parties.

Take the drug factor away and you have a very psytrance friendly world.

Anyways, I think there are a lot of natural places where we can make parties without anybody bothering us, in Mexico for example there are still many virgin beaches, deserts, mountains, forests, canyons, remote villages, jungles, etc

Maybe we just have to step out from the crowded cities and usual areas we make parties where the scene has become to noisy.

Plus, remote locations in nature are totally psychdelic.

i don't think this is the only factor that makes the authorities and self-proclaimed owners of the world anti peaceful, freedom gatherings. atleast i can speak for the USA. there are tons of commercial spaces which are open for after hours and play music. there are drugs in these places too. what's the difference? they sell taxable poisons like alcohol and cigarettes. they pay property taxes. they pay for liquor license, food license... our local and federal government is a legitimized mafia. all of these licenses and taxes in essence are just paying off the man to allow the party to proceed. when people gather freely it's not allowed. drug or no drugs. you need permits to gather in "excess" numbers in the city, park, recreational area. every bit of land is in somebody's name. so yeah, we have renegade parties in remote locations and usually get away with it because they are remote. we do have a strong community though and manage somehow because we won't lay down and surrender every space.

yidam mentioned AUM festival, full moon in july 2007 - i'm very excited about it and eager to contribute my energy.

back on topic - where ever i'm trancin'

biggest load of bullshit ive ever heard! there are no sniffer dogs on public transport. cops hardly ever even come to most bush parties....if they do, they usually just dont care or just have a dance with us
ive been to parties in europe, israel, india, thailand....the best vibes at any parties in the world are in Oz!!!

Listen man..I wasnt trying to make Australia sound bad...I dont know where you live, but I ended up in a prison cell for a night for 2 grms of weed because of cops with sniffer dogs between Penrith and Sydney.... it was on the night of Earth Dance 2001, going to Paramatta to get a lift from there

I didnt want to believe it either, but thats how it went..

Anyways, if you read my comments or my post in the Australia section you should know I like and miss Oz alot, I was just talking about my experiences.

peace

Im actually from melbourne and I find it hard to believe you spent a night in jail for 2g's of weed. This sort of stuff occurs very rarely in australia. You must have done something besides having possesion of weed to piss off the cops. The reason why I said it was bullshit was because in melbourne, public transport is actually privately owned and cops can only arrest you on a tram, bus, train etc if they have an arrest warrant.

I agree it may happen rarely but that was no use to me that time...Ive met plenty of cool linient cops who couldnt have cared less, I was suprised myself. I didnt do anything to piss them off, just sitting around on the train. I didnt even notice them untill they passed by my seat and the dog set down next to me so they asked what I had and I gave them the weed right away because they said they would search me anyhow (and those dogs dont go wrong .
After that they stayed with me untill the next stop (Blacktown) and told me we would have to go to the police station.
At the station they searched my pockets and stuff (no strip search or anything ;P) and I had to wait in a cell untill they did the report, weighed the weed and whatever else they had to do.
3-4 hours later they let me out again and told me I would get mail to tell me what would happen next, but I never got anything from them.
Even those cops were not too bad, just I would have thought they would take the smoke and let me go or something. After that I have seen "sniffer dog patrols" on the same route 2 or 3 more times.
Anyhow, this was the only problem I had during 3 years, maybe its something to do with New South Wales, (no idea how it is in Victoria or most other states) or the olympics 1 year before, or terrorism threat or because of too many hard drug problems in Cabramatta (which is almost on the same route)..no idea..

so...what I was trying to say is:

Australia is a great place for freedom and trance, just be a little, teeny bit careful on trains in NSW...it was intended as a well meant suggestion, not criticsism..
And ok,the cops are not vicious..lets just say some are sharp...

And...I was in Far North Queensland for 6 months (Cape Tribulation) and never even saw a cop there...but that propably because it was in the middle of nowhere...(1 hour to the ferry by car...1.5 hours to Cairns from there).
