I often think about this...but I don't know if I'd count the hours spent listening back, or staring at the screen not knowing where to go next.
Sadly my DAWs don't tell me how long
I started one track in April last year, only finished it a couple of weeks ago...but there was a massive period of writers block with it also, which accounts for why it took so long.

it is really, really various for me. i can finish a song more or less in one week (given that i have only a couple of hours every two days max of studio time) but sometimes i keep getting back for years to the same track.. ;-)
is there an logtime of your working time on cubase too? anyone? would really be interesting. i guess i would be shocked from the working time on some of my tracks =)
@makus: very nice track indeed and the vocals are cool. may i ask how you processed the singing besides the obvious cool delay and pitch shifting. but those sphongly harmonic sweeps are done with what plug?
