thats true.. FL is like playing with Lego's.. one day, you will build something nice. as cuebase is like building an airplane. you must read the manual first.. lol

I like toying with FL and i hope one day someone will have the patience to give me a crash course for Cuebase..

There are lots of artists that make music that gets released using FL also.. thats cool.. i guess..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

Be serious.
Fl Studio is for amateurs.
You need to be super wow expert for your music to sound *good*.
There are better programs like Reason,Orion etc.
Cubase and Logic are mainly for production.

Veru true about the "brain"
As long as u have imagination, production comes 2nd... I know lots of killer artists that work with different softwares and each and everyone has the best to say about their using softs...

My personal opinion, is start to use something like cubase or logic and stay with it... If u have started with FL at least try to learn it very good

I would say if you use fruity or cubase will make a tiny bit of difference on the final quality of the track.
95% is what you can do yourself, and the rest is what equipment you use.
You can definalty make professional sounding tracks with fruity if you are good at producing.
Of course most pro producers want 100% quality and use pro software.
I use logic myself because i was not totally satisfied with the quality i could produce with software like fruity and was very fluent in logic since many years already.
But i find both fruity and orion a lot more fluid and inspiring to work with many times.
So it depends really on what you make a priority.
It's limiting in some ways, and very creative in others.

And if it is for amateurs...well it's very few trance producers that is actually "pro" in the real meaning of the word, and there is quite a few that use fruity, so when people tell you it's for amateurs don't let that be a fact stating that it's crap to use.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

well thats THE real problem about this scene but anyway i dont want to sound *off topic*.
~About Fruity:i used it for about...6 years. All i can say:Orion is MUCH MUCH better. But of course,if someone needs something to start with, thats Fruity.
~About the "brain":i dont agree with that.if you dont know how to build a track then the brain is useless.Unless you dont care if your sound is a bit experimental(Like Autechre.Their '97+ music is fucked up and pointless in some ways but its also.....)

We don't really agree on that, for me it seems more like the problem is all the pretentions and producers dying to get a release and therefore make trance that is made for home listening as well, which is for me against the nature and original intention behind the music.
The finnish for example use fruity and orion a lot, and although their production leaves some to be desired they make more interesting music than most producers making pro-sounding stuff with cubase.

But i agree, when i tried orion it seemed the best out of the three main "amateur" sequencers out there.
It was a few years ago i used any of them, so i don't know for sure how they compare now.

i work on fl studio with 24 bit and 48000 with vst (albino vanguard absynth ) and guess what? no sound problem at all... exept no one believe me its fruity... hehehe

4 real - most fl users dont use compressor how u expect it sound ok?

believe me its just sequencer if u have even 1000 shekel soundcard adjust fl to 24 bit and 48000 (more if u dont have latency) and its realy other world...

p/s - some of my favorite trance cd's ever made on fruity and i saw 3 live acts based on fruity and guess what? it sound just good!!!          www.sattelbattle.com

again stupid fights???

FL is more conviniant for people to work with!
cubase is for those who feel that they used fruity and think they reached the max of it.../people that enjoy knowing that its a pro-sequencer program that being used in studios etc
