I can think of one or 2 good reasons for the absence of violent incidents in psy-parties.
1. Lack of alcohol. Alcohol is the best fuel for aggresive behaviour.
2. Lots of Ecstasy, Acid and Weed. I have never seen an ecstatic dancer turning psycho and feeling the need to see blood on the dancefloor...
3. Lack of verses in the track. Especially political or otherwise emotion-evocative words. This is no Rage Against The Machine territory ("they say jump you say how high...") And don't point to all the sound samples that are scattered everywhere. These are just taking the piss, or simply add to the "spaced out" atmosphere.
4. Last but not least, hey, this is a music genre that promotes the experience of ecstasy through dancing to some out of this world melodies set on thick and heavy repetitive bass riffs...
ps. Just try your luck with some punk/hip-hop/rock/metal concerts for comparison.
Different ideals, different way of life, different attitude altogether. Better or worse? Well, I'll decide some other time.

A little history, the roots of the trance music go back to the 60's...
Peace & love man, plur and other...
I think that only because there are still people who owner & respect those believes, that is why there is nice people in the scene that don’t get into a fight when someone step on them (accidentally of course)
