More info from NASA. I contacted one of there astronomers and this was his reply
"The information can be extracted from the NASA eclipse circular that Fred and I put together. In Brazil, first contact is before sunrise. At Natal, 2nd contact is 8:35:02 UT, 3rd is at 8:36:34 and 4th is at 9:34:32. There is no precise figure given for the centreline south of Natal (a point we'll address in future circulars I think), but it's pretty easy to figure out. The centre of the eclipse shadow is at 37 degrees west at 8:37:27 and five seconds later is at 35 degrees West, a position just offshore. So the centre of the shadow will be on the beach between 8:35:31 and 8:35:32. The duration of total eclipse is 1m 57.6 s. That will give you the start and stop. The sun will be just over 2 degrees above the horizon at totality.

So, let's do it, babe!:) But this Nasa studies i saw since the begining, on their webpage, but the thing is that the guys from here says that just from the ocean gonna be visible, but i sent this e-mails and messages to them, and anyway, if everybody is up like this, let's create something special, in 2 months we gonna post some names of the line up, but i still not 100% sure about this, but i'm feeling that everything gonna be gr8, i keep u guys updated, bye 4 now, Shama on Total Happiness Eclipsenish!

Those NASA people are hardcore!! i downloaded their 86 page report about the 2006 eclipse, what a wonderful read! a lot of it is a little hard to understand, but the brasil will be int the path of the eclipse starting at sun rise according to NASA, as psy-woof has also reported. extract from report is below.
" the central eclipse track begins in eastern Brazil, where the Moon’s umbral shadow first touches down on Earth at (in Universal Time) 08:35.4 at 37°16.4'W (about 240kms inland). Along the sunrise terminator, the duration is 1 min 53 s from the center of the 129 km wide path. Traveling over 9 km/s, the umbra quickly leaves Brazil and races across the Atlantic Ocean. "
also according to nasa, the percentage of possible sunshine for recife is 54% for that time of year compared to turkey's best theoretical location of 60%, (this is in contrast to the 75-80% chance in australia 2002, 76-88% zamiba 2001 and 45% in hungary 99 all which saw the eclipse from the festivals i believe), the fact that brasilian eclipse is in morning reduces the possiblity a little also.... but shit, no eclipse sighting is ever assured and the possibility a eclipsed sunrise from a beach in northern brasil with a few thousand fellow freaked out global groovers!!!! |

Looking forward to here what is being organised for the Eclipse . I know of at least 10 people who have booked and payed for flights. We just cant wait to get to natal . Any news would be great.

hey east Brasil is BIG, are you sure this NASA thing is seing some piece of land on their researchs? If so, would he tell the exact point where it will happen???
If there is an eclipse there ofcorse it must be an event, big or small,, don´t give a damn it is the eclipse sake... I have to start saving money to get there, if someone is organizing some party can this not be $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the ticket? I may run the risk of be seeing the eclipse outside the party. |

Check Psywoofs link to NASA this celestial event will occur so lets b ready!!please start the party happening!! We already said that this party is gonna happen, and by the way, a girl that i don't want to say the name, came to me yesterday on msn, asking if U were organizing a party over here with us, and o said ,not that i know. But anyway,...if u want to help on something, pvt and i see a function to u, thanxs a lot, and be pacient, in 2 months we gonna post the line up. We still having a lot of time untill there, big hug of light, Shamamix!
P.S: And the turkey festival is big, but will not have any progressive artist, just Atmos. And it will not be a progressive festival as u said on other topic, peace m8!

Hello there !
This cosmic event is a killer opportunity for a massive festival in the northeast are of our country.
I was told that maybe a Ypy Poty festival would take place at this region but im not sure if the date is the same as the eclipse !

Hi all. I have been checking and yes the eclipse will be low in the sky in Brazil but it is far more likely to be visible than in turkey , where at that time of year the possibility of extensive cloud cover is high. I hope u all are well and preparing for this amazing event in brazil. Shamanix how are things going pm if anything needed.

Yeah everything is going fine here,.. and the festival is 100% confirmed,... i am just with one question in my mind,... how big gonna be this festival,... cause until now i just have one sponsors,.. i am also talking for some partnership with some other crews here from Brazil,... So contact me via e-mail,.. cause i also want to talk with u again about some things,.. as progressive artists from Australia and NZ,...so i am waiting your contact to we keep talking,... and don't worry cause everything is going fine down here,.. i am going to visit a beach in Natal on the last week of september,.. i have a farm already to do it,.. but it's far away from the beach and i don't want something like that,.. just in last case,.. so i keep informing u guys,.. thanxs for your atention,.. peace, Marcelo!

Hi all . any news form brazil are more people getting on board , what is the vibe . This is going to be one of mother natures special events. Not to be missed . Our group here has gotten up to about 35 people so far. Hope all are great speak soon .
