the new Focusrite PRO series are yes, more stable.
I use one for live and no problem at all.

But for professional converters, go for Lynx, Metric Halo and Prism...

Prism is totally out of budget for me, i own a Metric Halo, and its very stable, plus crystal clear, and adequate for anything such as producing, mastering or mobile recording.

Totally killer !

i love MH !!!          http://darkelf.gr

i have noticed everyone who own a mh love it ,also it seems very well built , it will be probably be my next purchase with the dsp upgrade , only drawback it seems not possible to use the plugs in logic, just in the mh mixer

I wish metric halo start supporting windows, i would buy one right away!

Right now i'm thinking of ditching my RME 9632 and going for a steinberg MR816, been reading some solid reviews and it would be nice since i use cubase.          http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

hey man funny i just sold my rme 9632.
about metric halo i guess they won t suport windows anytime soon, their interface are known to be stable and working great cause they optimise them just for mac and osx i guess.

about the mr816 it may be a good choice but i think it got hyped on gearslutz cause of the shoutout with the orpheus... no one know if the shoutout is correct...we dont even know if it s a mr816 sample...also it was sounding better but more flatering, the orpheus was more true to the original and its just one track pass not a full song,it don t mean much .
what bother me with this interface is the pre you can t bypass except in input 1 and 2 if i m right.

LOL @ the Aurora vs Behringer test, on the first pages they're all mistake Behringer with Aurora and on the last pages they're discussing what mods they should order their new Behringers with. Gearslutz classique, i enjoyed reading.           >>> FOR SALE: Mac-clone OSX86 Audio Workstation <> Perfect computer for Logic 9 Pro <<<

ahah yes man, gearslutz is full of crap (but there is some very experienced engineers there that don t post bullshit).
and we have no idea if the test is real or fake... but i guess some bought some units cause of that threads same for the mr 816.

this place is a lot about sales and marketing,i m sure sellers have fake acount to hype product when they don t use their own account for that... or some guys working in the company...
it s the new marketing strategie for the mass, getting some hype from forums...they aim the non professional market that think each new plug will be the magic weapon their mix need with the hype created.

I never heard the samples so i cannot say, it could possibly be hype but i guess the only way to find out is to test it myself. What i like about it is that it is offering a lot of functionality for it's price, so the price/performance ratio makes it quite appealing to me.

There aren't really a lot of options for interfaces in this category. The only other alternative is the Fireface which i also used to own but i sold because i didn't really like the pres on it. The fireface is also much more expensive, as it's almost double the price.

If the pres on the mr816 are nice and if the conversion is as good as they say then i'll probably end up keeping it.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic
