why have they all become so fluffy?
They use to carry the flag of hard psy-music.
But today: club-trance! I don't hate it but it's boring and sometimes even sticky.

the Brits are schisofranic (and sometimes manic depressive) - they were always fluffy to the core and yet ruthless (beatles vs stones syndrome).
The cycle will turn again.

Don't worry - so far whenever the music needed change in the right direction, the brits were there for it (hallucinogen, green nuns, gms, tristan, process, etc), they'll be back with a vengance...

Long live Nick Taylor :)

This is what I was talking about when I posted the question 'Minimal trance, falling asleep trance?' the other week. There's none of the previous thoroughbreed trance coming from the UK anymore. As a consequence there's no cutting edge stuff in the clubs either, and I agree- it's boring as hell!! We need the stiff upper lip putting back into the UK psy-trance scene!! Up here in Newcastle we're on the case too - there are plenty of smaller acts who are about to take the national scene by storn - people like Cerebellum who are Andy Mason and Phil Taylor. They're ex-solicitors from Leeds who do a night there called Kundalini. They've been playing with the likes of Mark van der Vlught and Wizzy Noise but have a much harder, more psychedelic, interesting sound than the two of them put together. You watch this space!!

well, theres plenty of shithard music here, but not so much in psytrance...
anyway, dont forget the scene here isnt so big as it is in israel (psytrance, i mean) i guess things just tend to evolve along more specific directions than in israel, whereas were a much bigger country and have lots of scenes that dont really exist in israel, like durm and bass... ok, it has a follwoing, but i think im right in saying there arent too many clubs oin israel playing stuff like that

and the trance scene in general here is big, but its going more progressive right now

my theory is that if you reckon british psytrance has lost its hard edge, and maybe has shifted towards more minimal, or progressive and technoey stuff, its probably a rebellion against the more mainstream music culturies here... dont forget, our mainstream and for a large part our whole club cene, is currently in the grip of hard house, and techno is also growing slowly in to the more commercial fore..
maybe our psytrance scene has veered away from this in order to be less associated with the mainstream in dance music in the UK

Hey DCK.

What I mean is only the ones that are going into main stream(trevor with howels, cass and slide) club trance.
or in diffrent  words old euro trance with very up to date production.
I have nothing against cross over, I think this is the evolution of music.
I understand these artists, they wanna make money(its very hard living from psy trance) but why leaving the origins because we all know Club trance is no progression its regression!
