I am looking to do some open air parties over this coming summer and I need to purchase my equipment. I have never thrown one of these parties so I dont know what would be the best set up??
I am looking to purchase between 4-6 speakers for outdoor use to create a surround sound atmosphere.
What kind of wattage should I look for? Brand? Features... etc.
We are on a limited budget. Speaker set up has to be 1000 or less.
ANY HELP???? |

Don't know what gear to suggest, but i would say stereo is much nicer than surround setup!
And 1000; What currency ?

You dont get what I mean when I say surround. I want the speakers surrounding the dance area to create the crazy trippy envoironment when the sound travels from one speaker to the next. Like the open air parties Ive been to.
$1,000.00 USD

I knew what you meant, but like glitch said, phase cancellation will be an issue. You wont get 4 or 6 large towers for 1000 bucks anyways, so if youre gonna buy something, go for the best stereo setup you can afford. I would rent for sure with this limited budget.

This is what we picked. Is there anyway we can get better for our money? Or is this setup pretty good?
We made the decision to spend a little bit more for quality.
To be honest, this is our plan.
We are buying our sound system, a van, a laptop(lesser quality than expected due to speaker's cost) and our solar powered generator (supports typical household appliances [for blackouts, etc] for 3 days and with solar will never die!) so I figure that we are pretty set, so then we are traveling the country for a few months. We want to do some open air psy parties in different states around the US and Mexico/Canada areas as well. Maybe even Colombia. :-P And we just want to enjoy a few months of crazyness before we resume the normal life of work. Unless we can make money on this venture then maybe we continue to travel around and do parties everywhere. Even around the world! :-D
Anyone know of any tribe like people who travel around and do the same as us? We need to find like minded folk. lol.
