Hello everyone .

I started to produce trance music only 2 months ago and use 2 simple computer speakers and cheap headphones for the nights.

I feel that for now I should buy good monitors and maybe good headphones for "night producing " .

My friend also recommended to me get a good sound card if I want to use good monitors .

I would like to hear your opinions and tips about what equipment should a beginner buy .
Also recommendations about specific stuff are welcomed .

I'm serious about music production (Also have played guitar for 5 years ) so I don't mind invest in some good stuff for long period .

Thanks for posting

I have the budget for the dynaudio bm5a , I wonder maybe it would be better just to invest in the BM6A? ( The BM6A costs around 2200$ here in Israel )
My friend also recommended me the a5x or a7x from ADAM . ( same prize for the a7x like the BM6A)

About the sound-card I have no clue , I'm very beginner and don't have any knowledge in electronic music .

The rme babyface costs here is Israel little over 1000$ in store .

All I need is to connect the monitors and my guitar and midi controller in the future so I don't really know what sound-card I should buy and what I/O I will really use .

No beginner usually had budget for Dynaudio speakers... that's nice you have.

concerning Adam, i don't like them so much, but it's my taste.

Now if you have this money, have a look also at Focal, a very pro french brand. I use the Solo be-6 and they are really really nice speakers.

For the soundcard, a decent interface i advice to friends that begin and want something 'economic' is the Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP (4 ins, 6 outs, a DSP on the inputs and around 330 Eur, new)

RME is better, (i never heard the Babyface though) but this Focusrite for the price is pretty nice. Close to RME. If u have also a more high budget go for a Fireface 400 then.

All the best with your projects.

Is there big difference between the BM6A and BM5A ?

How about the Traktor Audio 10 ? Looks like good sound-card for decent prize .

if you want the NI road choose the
KOMPLETE AUDIO 6.

dynaudio bm5 vs bm6 is that bm6 goes lower on bass and higher on volume so you need a bigger room.. for the usual bedroom size project studio bm5a are the best choice.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

I have 2mx4m sized room , really really small . I currently live with my parents so I may move in the next 1-2 years to another apartment so I may have bigger room . The BM5 looks like the ideal chose for my room but I still want to be sure if there is any taste in buying the BM6 or the BM5 will good for bigger rooms ?

About the sound-card I really have no clue . I need now only to connect the monitors + guitar + midi controller . But generally I don't know what my needs for now and what they would be in next 1/3/5 years .

The Fireface 400 RME looks GREAT but I really not sure if this is what I need right now . Here is Israel it costs around 1600-1700 $ .

For the less expensive cards I have the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 or Traktor Audio 10 that is more expensive in 100$ than the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6.

I have also the Focusrite Pro 24 that costs the same like Traktor Audio 10 .

Which card from this 3 would be ideal for beginner ?

Thanks for everyone that trying to help I really appreciate it

my advice is, make basstraps for your room before you buy a good sound card and good monitors, they will be pointless and you wont be able to mix shit if your room has to much reflection.
good sound quality to be able to mix properly is,
60% room/acoustic treatment
40% gear

WhySoLazy the fireface 400 costs 1700 USD in Israel?
This is around 1200 EUR, while in Greece it costs 830 approx...
So is the price for the Bm6a per unit then?

In this case u should order from here or any country in Europe...

Concerning the soundcard, this Traktor Audio is aimed for dj's i guess. Only unbalanced outputs...
Go for another card.           http://darkelf.gr
