my name came to me in a flash one time when i was zooming along in my kombi van listening to a mix i had just made.
i was thinking about all the different sources of the tunes on the tape and how i was shifting (panning) between them.
then there is the other angle , as in.......
source = universe/multiverse
pan = whole/all encompassing
and then it is also the nickname of the star system orion

I was "Michael Anenburg" at the start, then it changed to "Michael A" and now it's "Mike A". Just short for my full name

Kaatisu, pronounced KAH-tee-suh, is the Japanese pronunciation of my name - Kurtis. (very few Japanese could say or even hear "Kurtis" without serious coaching.)

In the old Forum my nickname was Quad cause of my addiction to play Quake 3 arena online and having my nickname from there,when i tried to get on the new one something wrong happened and like i also produce music i decided to change it to Squarepusher cause basically its what i do in the piano roll of the Sequencer !!
