Yeah, and it's inevitable that our memories of the magic we found in our youth will produce a big contrast to the scene, as it evolves and becomes something else.

It's true that the original spirit is almost completely gone now. I don't think psy fashion is to blame. It's sort of natural that some people got inspired to make clothing for a new formed public that was born of a collective experience and access to a specific culture and events. If someone's to blame, I say some greedy organizers that pack the big stars in their lineups, crappy labels with shitty covers and the simple fact that some people have achieved star status within a culture that's meant to be psychedelic was the big factor.

I think it's still possible to produce great music and good events. People just need to get inspired and relate to like minded people who share the same kind of goals. The way I see it, back in the days everything was new. People were discovering new states of consciousness and translating some of those insights into their music and art. Add to the mix a group of people who were tired of society's repressive life style, and you have goa spirit. It comes with the hope of a better future and a community that makes more sense and in which we can express our thoughts and ideas - and love! - with each other and have fun being creative. That's all it takes. Money always gets in the way of that. It has for any kind of art you can think of.

So I feel emphasis should be in the ritual, in creating or designing a collective experience and mindset.

Anyhow, all I am going to say is "Goa 2013".
Amazing vibe, great parties, great people.
Like 1% of cheesy music, almost no prog. Lots of hard, twisted, acidic, psychedelic music.

naked girls or girls with very low clothes that are there to EXHIBIT themselves, instead of being there to enjoy the music and the vibes.
it may be pleasing for the eye, but there's nothing interesting in there.

the generic fashionables.. the kind of people that consumes only popular commercial. the society defaults.
they go to a rave because it's a fashion.

to me the scene represents a mechanism by which to introduce myself into a state in which i can contemplate concepts and ideas that the rest of society ignores or refutes.

this is important to me because i believe that valuable ideas and insights can be gained from such contemplation. These can be used to better the world in which we all live most days, that is, the world not under the black lights.

The best aspects of festivals promote these ideas, which are all very simple: love, sharing, compassion, honesty, etc. I think thinking for yourself and questioning authority are also valid members of this list and could be considered forms of honesty           --

I think their are many sides of the culture.

The psy culture now is associated with a lot of drugs, which kind of is true. This create corruption, decadence and various problems.

In a way(atleast where i live), it gets abit divided.
There are the more stimulant influenced partys, and the psychedelic party´s.
The vibe and culture vary greatly on these.

The base of the culture is mostly lost, but in some places, at some times you find it.
However if i compare it with being out on a club, i feel the psy scene(what ever party i go to) is alot more open minded, friendly, less ego and people is not playing identity games.

So even if its not like in the 60´s it still got its general idea, somewhat intact.           .

A.C.A.B.
No collaborationists on sight.
Such dirty, poor and corrupted souls simply cannot stand the psychedelic state of mind, they just drive themselves mad and it's easy to tell why. Imagine beeing high on acid in a festival and your real job is to give information to your foreman. How many times in your life would you stand sharing lies while tripping? So if you chose lies as real job, it is mathematically exact that you'll quit being there. If still there, I don't think we 'll ever see you again high on ACID, more like high on Caine..
