HAHAHAHAH "we are trying to cook here!" LOL

Ok but on a serious note, the term 'less is more' really helped me in this regard. Some of my favorite sounds I've created have come from just one EQ on the kick, one EQ on the bass, and a one transparent (as possible) compressor on the drum and bass buss to hold it together slightly - EQ before Comp*. Any other 'fatten-er' or distortion plugins you want to use is up to personal taste I suppose. Tried everything from a distortion plugin to a multi-band compressor on my DnB buss, but didn't like it.

Find a synth that you like, and with filters and mod options that can actually do what you are trying to achieve ; apply the subtractive EQ rule ; aaaand you should be good

Kick: Usually just a 909 sample or Fruity Kick (yes, fruity kick lol!!!) with some tweaks on the envelopes and a little bit of EQ

Bass: trillian, sylenth, massive with a little bit of eq

Then slight compression on the kick + bass bus           Free album out now:

With Black Jack and hookers.

Kick: Eq (any paragraphic eq will do) and comp (again, any comp with classic parameters might do the job)
Bass: eq, comp, quadrafuzz, psp vintage warmer

PS: To avoid the kick losing it's energy in some sections of the mix you might also try to experiment a bit with parallel compression, but before you do this make sure it sounds good along with the bass, and use some sidechaining if necessary on the bass

Good luck!

also interested! quite a combo with Roger Linn and Dave, a shame (but still reasonable) that it's priced so high, would really like to listen to it on a psytrance context as well
