i have used cubase along with my nord b4 but gave ableton a go for the first time saturday night and found it quick to pick up and use after a couple of days along with my novation remote sl25..
used some of tom cosms tips on youtube for live which was very helpful..any one got tips and pointers for their preference of setup?

i use ableton live, preferebly my controller would be a monome but i dont have one
check it out im not sure what company makes it, but it looks perfect for arangement and sequencing, while i would use sumthing like a novation remote 25, like what u have for playing synth sounds, and then probably a evolution uc controller, for stuff like master buss filter, tempo and transport stuff...

its better to have dif gear to do diferent sections of the production (for me at least) or else i would get so confused and probably end up doing sumthing wrong lol

you can use Follow actions on scenes and drum racks to set up all your basslines (single bassnotes) then some midi tracks with program changes and send everything to return tracks where you got several fx rack for example..then switch from fx to fx with your controller..and some fx on the whole master..i love filter delays..on drum return and stuff like that..just fiddle out a proper setup with the fx and its really good fun..the thing about follow actions on scenes is quite easy.. i wrote a tutorial on my site on the left in ableton live stuff..check it out if you like..

so you can actually perform follow actions on scenes? I've been looking for that for a bit... Thanks!

thanks for the tips Mtz Mtzz..
i like the scene way of things and how you can experiment from one to another..

one good tip cosm does on his tutorial is making duplicates of an efx or lead etc in one audio channel and setting the looping points a little different than the other. have these routed to your drum pads and go mental some nice outcomes with this..
