hi all
what is the best 2mix output in live-set
this is our basic set
PowerBook -> MOTU828(8tr-out) -> mixer(2tr-out) ->PA
our tracks(for live-set) didn't mastering. we just do mastering for cd. If I use mastering processor( like TC-Finalizer , dbx QUANTUM) on live-set(after mixer) can I get best quality sound?
my opnion is ...
DJ ( CD <- already Mastered) = good sound
Live-Set ( not mastered ) = its not good sound
someone knows best way for the live set?
cheese,
SHIN:) |

I don't know what sequencer you use for performing live, but if it's a sequencer in which you can put a multiband compressor on the master bus i would certainly use a mastering processor, this way you can control and tighten up your sound somewhat. I've heard several live-acts that had a low end that was way too large and 'poofy', a multiband compressor could have helped somewhat in this case. Maybe you can use Waves' C4 ? Most club systems use limiters, so you probably wont need one of those. |
