I am not here to please anyone.
I am not here to save anyone.
I am not here to live out somebody else's dream.
I am not here to live up to another's expectations.
I am not here to waste my life away in hesitations and procrastinations.
I am not here to sleepily glide my way to death, neither living nor dead.
I am not here to curl up in a cave of fragile calm, and close my eyes to the cries of...
I feel suffering.
I see suffering.
I recognise that there is suffering.
Sadness, loss, poverty, abuse.
I see and feel how lost we all are, flooded by garbage and messages that we are worthless without their products.
And I am angry about that.
I am dissatisfied with that.
And I don't want to ignore that feeling of revolt.
Still, I am not here to change the world,
though I believe it can change,
and I will try in my own way to contribute to that change.
But, I am not here to be a superman.
I am here to live and die
engaged with myself and others in the world around me.
I am here to see, feel, breath this experience known as life.
I am here to connect, to hear, to relate to the experiences of other lives.
I am here because I relate.
I relate because I am here. |
