Its your computer's way of telling you, you're doing it wrong
I've never had a bsod in my PC days. Then I bought a Mac
Peace out.

first of all you need to see if all your basic computer drivers are updated(go to your motherboard website)..
i used to get this a lot before but it was an old driver for my gfx.. |

Since I switched to Xeon processors, super stable ram and a simple nvidia gfx card (nothing fancy but nothing cheap either) I have not had this happen and it feels great. Seriously Its been forever! The only blue screen I see is Isratrance...
Cheers

I know it is coming from overloading my soundcard more than it can take in short. Ive read it somewhere official that it can happen ... But it happens only when i do nothing wrong and make something that is totaly amazing and that just makes me cry all night in to my pillow
I swear it is beacause of the soundcard i will find where i read it or it even could be RAM failure could be. http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

"Let's take a moment to look at a BSOD in its natural environment, careful now, we don't want to startle it... Note the eye catching shade of blue intended to warn us of trouble, the detailed list of hexadecimal numbers, and relatively unhelpful 'tip.' This is the BSOD in all its glory, so be very afraid if you ever come face to face with this hideous creature! "

To all the Mac smartasses, macs can crash all the same, I have worked with both and can say that neither is better than the other... And yes, the screen on a Mac goes black, not blue and this happened ro me with an iMac once, and no, it was NOT a slow one...

rolf i had exaclty the same blue screen lot of time in the past, i think i was on windows 98 or maybe xp but dont remember the cause. it s maybe irq conflit or hardware faillure, i would try everything, disable all the hardware you dont really need on windows and reeboot to see if it fix it, try your ram sticks one by one to see if it fix it and in different slots, and change the pci cards place on the motherboard slots. maybe it s bad advice dont know much but i already fixed blue screen doing one of these thing |

That's my guess too. Are you using a laptop with a pentium m processor? I've seen this prob in a laptop and tried fixing it using the way described in microsoft support - it didn't work. Tried installing sp3 - didn't work either. The solution was to install windows again. The gv3.sys points to a processor driver anyway so you should look that way. On a sidenote check for cpu overheating.
If everything fails, get a mac. Your problems won't stop but at least you will be able to visit the forums and make an ass of every poor sod having windows trouble by typing the three magic words: "Get a Mac". Life will be much better thereafter.

I always used to use macs until a year ago. my latest aquisition was an imac 27 inch i7 quad core, i live in a very hot country average temp is 36 degrees celsius and very humid in summer.
In a stretch of 8 hrs i used to get 2 automatic reboots & 4 freezez which obviously resulted in a restart from my part, sometimes that wouldnt even work and i would have to disconnect the power chord, all this due to overheating. The noise coming from the thing was very annoying.
After 4 months my hard disc went dead, it took ages for apple to send me a new one. was waiting so long that in the mean time i got a tower pc which i built myself, high end cooler, i5 quad core, high end ram and a sony 40 inch led tv to go with it.
Heating problem solved, noise problem solved, stability issues solved (thanks windows 7!) , and a far better picture than the imac, and all this for just 200 euro more than the imac costed me.
So basicaly my side it was a case of 'get a pc' |

how often do you get bs?
I now installed linux on my laptop. the windows recovery takes sooooooo long
mac: I remember at least 2 persons sayin that they had to replace their mackbook hard drive both are music producers.
in laptops the component lifetime tend to be smaller than the desktop pcs.

and same thing for the imacs, 27 inch imac shouldnt have this problem but it still has. |
