My myspace is doing alright, in about five months i've got nearly 10,000 friends (about 100+ a day currently). Though I refuse to do the spam bit, as I isn't imho nice. And the feedback is good. Looks nice when people check me out, to give that "air of the cool kid". Wish it was just the graphics, but unfortunately we seem to be influenced by these things, such as "perception".
I don't find facebook half as usual for networking with likeminded people.
Though tbh all the social networking just reminds me of geocities v2.0 |

have you tried uploading sets online and or making orgs hear it? also, there are those online radio sites where you can play and slowly make the right connections to finally get a good gig.

I think I need to clarify, that I am a VJ not a DJ.
However it is something I have been thinking about,
and I will do some audio mixes to show that I can do
both.
And all those years ago, there was me thinking I wanted to add something extra for the experience. |

well then, it is only meeting people that can help. people who would employ you for such gigs. visit a few parties, ask around, message influential members on this and other forums.. good luck with it

i do so much for publicity that i forget to meet my studio and recording dates. i have already hired an agent who has great experience in psytrance genre...he takes an upfront 30k usd for management fee and i dont even have headphones and external speakers for my laptop. i dont know what he's managing but its definitely working...i got two new friends added on my myspace

Look at it from the promoters side:
Whye should I pay you instead of my regular VJ/DJ?
and then write down the list of what you are good at and what you need to work on.
Make a demo, send it in and keep annoying them endlessly until they either get so pissed off you'll never be hired or they are so annoyed thye just give you a gig to shut up!

I don't know, it has kind of reinforced how utterly pointless it is doing what I am, and for the amount of time and effort I have put into it, I am never even going to be able to even scrape a living from it.
Ahhh fuck it, it was a good dream whilst it lasted.
