I'm a wierd case, there's times where i can't sit for more then 30 minutes, and there's times i can sit for hours and hours, if u can't find ideas and inspiration don't force u'rself.. think during the day of some ideas, and it will come.. u'll see. |

Me and my inspiration are very close good friends , She is always here around , Never go to anywhere , I just whistle her .. 'Sit' , 'On the floor' , 'Give me one hand' .. 'The other 1' , 'Say somthing ..', 'Dance' , 'Jump ..' . Thx . Good .. Good inspiration , Now you can go out and play in the garden . |

Life is a big inspiration, be it bad or good!
i dont think you should rely only on cannabis for giving you the ultimate inspiration, cannabis works like a key to your mind and senses, its great for inspiration but if you use it alot this will fade, best is to use cannabis only once in a while, thats my opinion, (sure iv been smoking a lot from time to time, but my general opinion is to not overdo it)
i like to smoke a joint and play with music, but if you gonna make some serious stuff you better off being in total focus and smoke a joint after the session and get ideas from there... especailly if you have lots of stuff to keep track of. but that might also just be a personal opinion.
though sometimes doing it the other way around works just as fine, but its easy to stray away from the main idea, which dosent have to be a bad thing, many interesting things can come up when you are high!
often i just feel like creating when i smoke, or to just relax and chillout..(but sure riding go-kart, climbing, snowboarding, longboarding or whatever gets much more intensified) the ideas you get when you are high are divine! but its up to you to nourish them and give them life. many people get locked in the state of ideas and no more happens, its also fun and nice.. but it wont get you anywhere.
Lots of surreal artists use drugs for inspiration and to let the thought travel free.
best advice is to meet people, walk in the woods, do things you like and develop your self as a person. inspirations can also come from restraining your self from doing music, and just do other important things.. a cleaned apartment/studio can do wonders for Cytopias idea..

well i get my inspiration by setting the mood...when i'm out in the evening with friends, i smoke a joint or 2, by the time i get a downer, i'm already home, in my studio, with a/c on full, i switch off the lights, i have a small lamp which changes colours (really trippy) i put it on...n boom...i'm on...i like to have my room clean...u really cant work with everythin scattered all around...it gets frustrating...i sometimes also sip on beer while workin...
do wateva sets the mood for u |

yeah Chans, totaly right, i do so aswell, i light some candels, light some incense, make a nice cup of ayurvedic tea of your choice(or whatever you want), depends on which mood, so does the incense.
sometimes for partymood some beers might do good, just to get a little fucked up and on a dancy mood... though alcohol is not always needed for that.
but basicly we controll our mood to some extent, which is nice to draw advantage of..
herbs is great mood controllers/setters...
the smell of them and the magic they do if we eat them...
you know we dont necessary have to take drugs like, mushrooms and cannabis, lsd ect, ect to alter our minds..... a breath of fresh air can do alot of difference aswell..

Don't be inspired by other peoples music too much..you'll begin to think that your music isn't good enough if it doesn't meet the monotonous standards of the "genres" of today. Get inspired by events in your life, artwork, books, anything but too much of others' music.

Today I was traveling by train and in my head I was really makin a nice Chill track.
I was really trying to listen to what I was "hearing" in my head and to hold on to that and not forgetting this.
But somehow although I did very clearly hear what was going on, I just could not totally devine how the beat would look written out in Cubase.
And besides, usually when I have a particular sound in my head which I wanna create with one of my synths, the moment I touch my synth, it has disappeared and I can't remember what I was hearing in my head.
