I just couldn't let the oportunity pass... because also here in Portugal theres starting to be a diference betwen adiences and the "dark scene" is getting stronger by the month...
I Play for 9 years now and first started with techno till about 6 years ago and i started when techno was already splited into severall styles and i believe by what im seeing here the Trance is taking the same steps...
I Play what I consider(please not that i am expressing my opinion and interpretation of the music i play) to be clean, sharp, and very groovy psy trance with lots of atmospheres that by what i can see make anyone dance and in my opinion is quite a good dark psychedelia, i.e:

I believe that things constantly change and that the heavy music is Here to stay but you allways need the "full on" to make the non specific listeners dance...
Good partys here are the ones that are starting to join the best of both bowls... I wonder why?

know what though? a lot of the "dark" psy these days is just as cheesy as its counterpart can be...horror samples, devil this devil that, monster growls, screams...what are we 15 years old and shop at Hot Topic? there is amazing music that can be categorized as both types, but the BEST music strikes a balance between the two (for me, the production quality of full on, with the edge, unpredictability, psychedelia, and nonstop rhythms of darker trance). right now, dark IS the trend, but it will eventually moderate away from the cheesy darkness, and hopefully we can meet somewhere in the middle! |
