what do u call outdoor psy parties where u are?

outdoor psy parties are called doof's or just parties here in australia... but i have been wondering what you guys call them around the globe.

well, i do wonder how we don't have a special name for it, for us it's just nature parties.
d'you by any chance know how the doof name came to be?

Well, in Brazil we call it Rave or Open-air party or just simply party... |

Nature parties i guess... but most of the time parties is enough, because about 90% of parties here are outdoor (thank god!)  |

yes its the sound of the beat (from a distance) for example as you walk to a party or are camping nearby then suddenly... doof doof doof ; )

around my area, we just generally refer to trance parties as raves. Most of the people in my general area of the country haven't adapted any kind of cool, new phrase or name for them. |

yes fair enough. I guess i assumed that there would be these names given the difference in culture between indoor parties and outdoor parties. they are jsut so different here... psy trance for example is almost unheard of at raves though there are a few "parties" indoors that are specifically psy orientated. most psy is played outdoors, and this is amongs my friends the most preferred place. so due to the type of music played and the preferential location and generally different culture of party.. we have doof's and raves.
