Agreed. A few spliffs and a glass or three of a nice red wine light my inner audio fire. A lot more psychedelic too then beer. But hey, who's into the world of psychedelics nowadays...

Alcohol is often counter productive for me though. It's usually hard to know my limit working with music and easily loose the whole vibe with the combination of too strong spliffs and beer/wine.

Coffee... The least psychedelic drug on earth?

Alcohol is dampening, closing my emotions, therefore I'd never touch it to make music, since I need my senses at full power to create psychedelic music.

I find Alcohol is very unpsychedelic as a drug and can not really understand how Alcohol could help with psychedelic music. Look how Jim Morrissons Music changed once his LSD/Alcohol ration went towards Alcohol...

Making music.. for me only totally clean. I need my mind at its natural state at maximum sharpness.

But I'm sure everybody has its own way

I don't even like to listen to music anymore while drinking.
After a while everything will just get blurry and the volume seems to go down
Even if I turn up the volume all the way, it still doesn't sound loud enough.

I suprisingly make some of the best tunes i make the day AFTER a heavy drinking session, i.e a saturday. I find when im hungover the only way i can stop thinking about the hangover is to make beats, and i get incredibly into and surprisingly make some good stuff. However i do try to stay clean when making beats, music is supposed to represent your emotions, not the drugs you were on at the time. In the same way subconsciousmind said that alchohol is unpsychedelic, i find if i drink too much coffee i wind up making alot harder less organic noises. I like to smoke a little but if i smoke too much i generally wind up sitting there staring at the screen wondering why a noise wont do something. Meditation is the best inspiration for making music IMO

However i can't deny i do like the odd drink in the studio, red speckled hen being the ale of choice, i love it, though it's not quite the same when it ain't out a tap

Pilsner Urquell does it for me. It's smooth and not too heavy so as not to blur my vision too quickly. I have a penchant for snacking, alot, whilst making tunes too.           http://biode.net
