thanks man very intresting to read your experience, never thought about the deco thing but it make perfect sense.
about getting the low end tight ,under control and well balanced i have to experiment with multiband compression i rarely use multiband but it might help to get the low really under control. |

I don't use multiband compressors on bass or master, only on high resonance leads with filter sweeps.
But yeah getting the bass under control, yet punchy makes the world of a difference as PA's, even good ones, are very unforgiving to mix mistakes. First time we played a live set as Disco Hooligans, I learned the hard way

yes low end need to cut razor sharp these days , just that can make the difference between a pro and more amateurish mix. |
