I was wondering what kind of eq dj mixers usually have? I know it's a 3 (or 4) band eq .. but what kind of eq is it? A bell curve? A shelf? Low pass or high pass?
My guess would be a bell curve with medium broad q and the amount of decibels you can choose to cut.
Where is the low/ mid/ high frequency?

Of course this changes per model and brand. But a general direction would be much appreciated.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

The EQ i have on my mixer is quite customizable..
I can choose between Kill and Baxandall and tweak the settings to suit my needs in both modes..

sounds nice. But does the manual say what 'kill' means? Is it a bell curve at 350 hz with a q=1 and db = 18? Or a shelf at 200 with db 8?
And the what is baxandall?

the really standart 3 band eq in a dj-mixer is a low+highshell with reduction to infinity and a broad band bell with reduction to infinity.
the frequency cutoff my vary from mixer to mixer but i guess it will be around 100-150 lowshelf + 'bout 8khz highshelf           http://soundcloud.com/seamoon

Baxandall refers to a very simple shelving EQ; in analogue design terms, it is built around a simple RC network which shunts the filtered portion of a signal to ground. most Baxandall filters use an op-amp with negative feedback, since the passive versions reduce the overall output significantly in order to allow for boost. they are generally used for e.g. hifi tone controls.

Just found the pioneer djm 600 specs:

Channel equalizer
Hi: +12dB, -26dB (13kHz)
Mid: +12dB, -26dB (1kHz)
Low: +12dB, -26dB (70Hz)

Just doesnt say what kind of eq it is.. Guess mid is a bell and the others might be a shelf. I ll test it out later.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

There's no difference to da full version?

I mean it says:" demo version has no disturbing limitations and can be used as a free plug-in"

Why should I pay 52$ ?
