i have this old filter, i use it alot - but there is something in it i dont understand.
in mode, it has ofcourse the diffrent settings for: LP,HP,BP and BR - but then it has another menu for 1 pol, 2 pol, 3 pol, 4pol.... the default is on 2 pol.
does anyone know what they are?

"12dB/octave (a '2 pole' filter) or 24dB/octave (a '4 pole' filter)."

we both learned new things...
The slope of the filter cutoff..

If you have Antares filter... you can see the effects of changing the poles
as New Era Scientist it's to do with the slope of the cutoff... i 'think' poles refers to the number of points along which the curve travels to (hope you get me). So the more poles the steeper the slope

What I recall when reading about filter design, poles, order and slope value is all the same thing.

Basically to make a filter you need a small cirquit with a couple of resistors and capacitors and that will provide you with a certain slope. You cannot affect the slope by changeing one of those parts.

The way to increase the slope if to connect up several of those cirquits in series. Each "pole" or "order" will increase the slope by 6dB/octave.
