Nice track.... I don't like that you use pre processed vocal samples from sample cds though.. espacially the "distorted mind" vocal sample. If you like the fx they used on the sample then grab your own sample and process it in a simular way....
If it sounds right it is right? does it really matter, musically, how the result was achieved?

^ so true
I usually decide on a style I'm gonna create (morning, night, dark, chill, etc). Pick a kick, make a bassline, grab one-hits/start chopping up percussion loops. Then pull up some synths and see what comes out of them.

Well guess thats a matter of taste. I think it's a shame to create a great track and then use som cheessy preprocessed vocal from some sample cd that thousands of people own. But only because it's so obvious that it spoils the whole musical expierence for me... Use drum samples and even acid stabs from sample cds, thats fine with me, most of the time i won't even notice...
I just think it's a shame when it's so obvious that people just used a sample cd.

Both vocal sample and the human beatbox loop is from a vengeance sample cd. The cd contains a great set of human beatbox one shots but the sample used that inda used is what i consider to be a "demo" of what you can do with the samples on the cd...
It's a great track, but I can't listen to it without thinking of the sample cd and that ruins the listening expierence for me..
Well guess it's a matter of taste but am I really the only one feeling this way?
But of course it's a matter of taste...

i have a hard time with voice samples that has been used in other tracks, like the intro voice in X-men.. that has been used by many well known artists... and to be honest it only fits well in one of the tracks...
really if you got the driving force to make a good track and need vocals or something, why not make a effort to make them original aswell...

I only used that vocal sample cause i could not afford a mic yet, and i'm not trying to release te track or anything like this, just trying to learn as much as possible while having fun doing this =D
but thanks, that's a really good advice!
I really like your songs, btw

Thanx.
Actually sometimes if I know that I want a vocal sample in my track I also just use something that I have lying arround just to hear what it sounds like, then I change it later on...
Anyways, keep up the good work!
I'm actually still working on my first Psytrance track at the moment. Well... Actually... One of the bunch of W.I.P. things I have. I haven't been trying it for all that long but I've spend lots and lots of (mostly nightly) hours on a few things so far. Not gonna say done too easily.
I've made some IDM/Ambient/Glitch hybrid stuff in the past and I'm still active as a noise maker. What? Yeah, raw and harsh noise
Just working on sounds still and trying some different arrangements,
Any feedback is welcome!

i totally agree with this. movie/vocal samples just tend to shift the attention from the music and i doubt that's the intention (unless the music itself is really crappy and the "cool" sample is the best thing about it). i'm not going to say that they never work, but most of the time they don't and simply aren't necessary. just keep that shit abstract.
