I dont like them arabs...some are nice but i think most of the palas' are only want us dead so why should i love them? |

hmmm. althogh i tried 2 stay out of this,
i dont think that all palastine folks want us dead, its the leaders man, not the usual ppl, & believe me i know, i've been very close 2 this issue in my army service.
no one said u should love anyone, just dont hate.

I will not say who I think are right and who is wrong in this political debate...
But, a fact is that Israelis who grow up are told by their parents from they are born that palestinians are bad. Same goes for the palestinians about the israelis...
I'm not saying the Israelis and palestinians are "brainwashed", but I think it's difficult for them who are born into this conflict to look at it from another side, and see the points from both sides...
For me, who see the conflict from a completly different country, I see some good points from both sides. But in general, it seems like very many from where I come from is starting to really disslike the way the Israelis behave these days. Some politicians here in Norway has even suggested to stop buying all products from Israel, both cultural things, weapon, food etc...
Anyway, I will not go into political discussions with any parts in this question here on isratrance... I just hope that at least most trance people down there can stop hating so much... Still, I know there are some real racist among Israeli trancers too. One example: I was almost knocked down at Samothraki in Greece, because I had a t-shirt with some arabic letters on it.... How lame is that?

PKS, what you bring up is interesting regarding sides being involved not being to see beyond their noses... very true indeed in many cases. think about this one though - what you see on your news, and what u see as news and fact or what not... just because its from norway - does that mean its unbiased? how can you know for sure who is behind the "facts" that are being reported to you? maybe its one of those sides pumping the info they would like to see reported? arent we then back to square one? its a super complicated issue...
the govts of both people have found the media to be a tool and use the media for political influence. i know from my military service that many times things that would happen (that i was eye witness to, either in lebanon and later in the west bank) would be reported diffrently, mis-reported, confused, or used in a political manner... this wasnt the actual the case out on the field.
in this media game and economical game - the weak is more attractive and more interesting to report on. im not saying there arent atrocities being commited to the palestinians, but you have to understand that and keep it in mind. things like what your gov. is considering is the result of all this work.
think about it.
but we are straying off the topic - the topic is: what are israeli TRANCERS' view of palestinians... lets stick to it. "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

Honestly Surrender, I believe that Scandinavian media is rather unbiased. Scandinavian countries traditionally have very good ties with Israel and they show views from both sides rather equally.
This cannot be compared with Israeli media, that often shows only one side of the story and prevents many Israelis from seeing the truth.
Me and my wife (who is Israeli) live in Finland at the moment and she couldn't believe her eyes when the actions of Israeli army were shown in the news, she straight away called Finnish media pro Palestinian (which it is not, actually every single suicide bomb or shooting incident against Israelis that resulted in casualties is shown on main news broadcast), only after I explained her that those are actual scenes from Palestinian territories she opened her eyes.
I agree with PKS. I've seen kind of brainwashing on both sides, but in my opinion, in Israel it is more like shaping the attitudes to be against Palestinians, but on Palestinian side it can too often be called actual brainwashing. |

Surrender, I agree with you, the media is certainly a tool that both sides are abusing. The Israeli news are not better than Al-Jazeera or vice versa as they are both reporting "their version" with "their interests" in. Both sides are just showing propaganda in my humble opinion that are growing anger in the respective people. There's always two wars going on: the propaganda war and the real "physical" war. I accept that you have seen things which were later on not properly reported and this is for sure going on at both sides - but - it is damn scary at times to read what kind of bullshit that are being published in both the media. Yes, I use the word bullshit because it is not in the leaders' interest that the war stops so the media has become their tool to control the people, and I bet the conflict can't really be worked out as long as the present leaders have the control seized. Some of the things being published in the media is just as ignorant and brainwashed as if it was nazi propaganda - and this includes BOTH sides. This is something the people need to start recognizing and questioning their information sources. A great example of media control is the U.S. Just study the FOX reports on Iraq, Afghanistan or whatever. U.S. is to me a great example of how media can "trick" the people to take one step closer the leaders' purposes and plans. And the important lesson is: don't blame the U.S. people for some of their "beliefs" - it's pretty damn difficult to "know better" (that Iraq for example is not a lake  ) if you're constantly being fed the bullshit the media supports you with.
The same goes for the Israel-Palestine conflict. You can't really blame any of the sides for their hatered at times toward the other side - because the media feed em and supply em with whatever the leaders want em to believe - that is the "leaders reality".
Anyone of you reading this are free to call this conspiratory bullshit theories, but I'd then suggest you go and read a shitload of books about the subject and then come back.
And oh, this was not aimed at you Surrender.  I just wanted to say I agreed with what you said, so please don't feel this as a poke at you because it wasn't!

haha, agreed. After I lived in Greece with no TV at all for 8 months, i realized how bad a TV is. I never watch TV anymore, exept for good shows like Simpsons and Seinfelt. But to have no TV at all? Na, i need the TV for other reasons like watching a DVD, to play PlayStation and to watch some porn

HAHAHAH.. me too.. i very rarly watch tv anymore because of its bad influences.. i watch a hockey game from time to time and use it also for video games.. and living in Canada, its not like im missing out on any truth.. Our media is such crap, to assimulate the people and give our gouvernement the "justification" to bomb contries and invest billions of dollars in stupid war tools..
I don't know about israel, but the people in the US and Canada are so scared of getting "Attacked" that we are giving up our liberty rights to ensure "protection" from these invisible terrorist.. we should be scared of our gouvernement insted...

People need to start with their own personality to bring freedom where ever a conflict is.
Thich Nhat Hahn wrote a good books about this, finding ur own freedom in ur heard to bring freedom to ur environment. He did/does seminars in plum vivllage for israelis AND palestinas to find freedom for themself and for a starting point for freedom in israel.
