i posted the same question a while back here...I ended up buying a nord rack 2 second hand. For Psytrance you cant go wrong cause its a raw beast! I cant speak for the Virus but some have said that all the submenu's gives one less direct access to the core.
You could get a nord rack 2 [the keyboard is crap]and a virus kc for your money.
The nord rack 2x is tha same as the nord rack 2, only more banks and memory.
The nord3 has a totally different architechture from nord 2 but those led knobs come in handy when editing presets.

my vote to virus kc ............................. i just bought one and the sounds coming out are preety crazy still more to fiddle around ................................................. |

Get a NL2 and a Virus b. Problem solved. The bells and whistles of the latest revs of each keyboard do not outweigh the value of owning both boards for their respective strengths. Just as with CPUs, the cutting edge in synths is usually a waste of money, and what you're paying for is gear status--status which I'll assume you do not require, as you are a serious, practical artist and not a fashion plate. |
