What album/cd got you hooked on psy/Goa?

When this came out I was a happy stoned grunge kids. I professed. Pure hatred for all thing electronic music wise. I was shopping for a cd for my birthday when a friend showed me this. Neither of us had any idea what psy trance was but the cover looked awesome & the tracks/artist names quirkier.

Got home, got super stoned and put this on & it completely changed my perception of music.

To this day this compilation is my reference piece to what wonderful experimental psychedelic electronic music shoul sound like.

It’s still such a trip.

Ps. Definitely for me the the dole experience with this music was such an important link. People seem to hate to admit it but for gods sake it’s call psychedelic trance!

I did try acid once but I had such a terrible mental health reaction that’s taken almost a decade to sort out I gave up drugs & now also alcohol and caffeine.

the very first Goa vinyl I bought ever. I still consider it to be a true masterpiece.

I was heavily into heavy music like Melvins and Neurosis and hardcore punk when I went to Burning Man in '97 and found myself dancing till dawn, completely sober, to what I later learned was Goa trance.

It wasn't till a couple years later that I found microdots.org that played streaming Goa and Psy of all styles. I loved all of it. I didn't know where to buy the music. Went to a big name chain record store and found a CD with Goa Trance in the title but I have no idea where that CD is now or what it was. Then I found a party near me with Infected Mushroom. I mostly listened to microdots.org or went to parties. This was in Los Angeles so thank god for PsyTribe and Green Sector and other smaller orgs that brought artists there.
