For me, I personally feel that Absolum was ahead of his time when his first album came out... It was hard mental music, with a bit of a dark groove...

I'd also like to recommend Xenomorph... He did what he does before it got popular to make sinister music. And if you listen to his older work and even his newer stuff, there's a slight goa presence there that adds a bit of balance to his music.

For sure Droidsect helped establish the mental side of the music, but I'm not sure if they or Hux Flux did it first...

And for the psy/industrial sound right there with Xenomorph is Tim Schuldt, I think Tim approached it with more of a "rivethead" approach than Mark's gothy approach but, both were making a hard techish sound without being too minimal.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

after listening to some samples of Rip Van Hippy he definately has a crazy style that was ahead. waking up is hard to do especially. i like "I Couldnt Talk" and "Dumbeka".

i'd say simon of course, IM, hux flux, x-dream and RVH.

What about the pioneers of what's now called 'suomi style'? Can you name some?

"he was ahead of his time" hehe sad indeed if the person dies before he gets recognition.

im sure all the music we call bad now will be called just this..."ahead of its time"

interesting topic!

i would rather call the things you talk about,
Timeless music...

these artitsts you name did get recognition when they released their stuff, it was probably good timing.
something that is ahead of its time is not liked by the people in that time...

or am i totaly out of line?
