Beatiful words man. I agree on every one of them.
Everyone in the world is doing something without me |

about cosma specifically, i really dont understand why his music became so important after he passed away.
from what i have read he was a very good guy and people loved him, but his music was never anything special... and i dont remember seeing so much people talking about his stuff when he was alive...

Well, in according to your reaction about Cosma... I guess it's a common way to react now. Because I agree that this thing has become too big.
And to be honest, sadly i wouldn't really care That much if some other artist in the multitude, anywhere, would ..sort of...dissapear like this.
And i guess some of the people praising Cosma now didn't even listen to his music while he actually was alive. But I did, and personally i really saw a great future in his work, though my pretentious visions faded away two years ago by the incident.
Yeah, I guess Cosma is overhyped by his death, Which is too bad - Becuase he deserved all this credit while he was still alive!
And to explain why; the music he created has a very special spirit to it, there's just few acts out there that adds this emotional touch... Even if it's deeper prog or something like that, in the end it's mostly a swirl of sounds or just empty dancefloor grooves that you have to be in a good mood to appreciate. But his music is really great for home-listening too, not only designed to work at parties and danefloors. I mean that Cosma managed to create that special mood by himself, he had the talent to lead any listener into that state (believe me, people i know that don't like psy at all almost wet their eyes while listening to some chosen moments of Cosma). Not much music is kind of related to a subtle theme, a dimension and a vibe that Cosma were able to capture.
This guy managed to create some totally outstanding moments over a few years - and to know there was even more great to come....I've heard about every track he released and the fact that he was planning a downtempo album after "Nonstop" makes me go nuts. Damn, not even his progressive tracks or his full dancefloor stompers were on a different level (than most of the shit in this scene imo), Cosma's various chill-out contributions were just absolutely awesome!
I strongly believe that the quality of the music in this scene would have been far better today if Cosma were alive and free to share the vibes he decided to put his hands on. In that way he also may had inspired other producers (some with really bad role models these days to walk in the same direction as him. Because most of the music i desperately search for today lacks to do that. There are just too few producers now that are able to create and guide me into this special, untouchable mood.
The only way to pass through that is to move on and hope the future will show some artists, that not only are focused on to make people jumping & screaming, that also are focused on the emotional aspects of sound and dance.

Touchy touchy.... are we?
worst LP i ever actually paid money for was California Sunshine... and if the artists read this, I still think it sucked.
We call this criticism and yes it is a matter of taste. Deal with it. |
