I can't describe it, really. A good example is the end of Aphex Twin's Funny Little Man. Or at one of Sphongle's songs (it says: "a bi e doo doo and doobi doobi" or something). Something like pitch shifting.
How is it done? I would guess some auto tuning device with some weird settings. If anyone knows how to do this could you please help? |

The Shpongle one I probably know - it's from "Divine moments of Truth" right? I think he says something like "Eeeellis deee do deee-eem-teee"...
Anyway, this is an algorithmic voice - purely computed and synthesized. I don't know any program that can do it, but do a google search on "speech synthesizing" or something similar.
Good luck |

And how did he make the voice sing? Did he pass it through a vocoder or something? |

With the right program (again, haven't checked it out), you can program notes, and make the voice sing - I think it's quite tricky and time-consuming... Actually, come to think of it, I tried once with a dingy program called voiceAssist, that was bundled with a SoundBlaster AWE 32 soundcard... It's yeeears ago, but I remember some demos of the voices singing, but the programming was tedious and non-intuitive, so I didn't get into it very much...

Yeah Vocaloid is great for doing vocs, but in my experience it is really hard to get nice ones with it.
I think i have to spent more time for it, to get better results.

That's right. It's called "Vocal Writer" as far as I know. |
