When i turn off my computer, i hear a really loud nasty noise, that sounds like a synthesizer. It goes from a high tone to a low one in about half a second and sounds really unhealthy.

I have no idea what it is and what i can do about it. Does anyone here experience something similar ?

Maybe it's your "Shut Down" sound under Windows sound setup... or maybe a VST that is poorly programmed (or cracked) that doesn't exit completely when exited           *In AjmaGard We Trust*

Thats actually something i used to do, i used to have it switched on forever. My girlfriend likes to turn it off once a while though.. also fot the noise etc, best is to have ultra quiet machine or set it up somewhere where you cannot hear it. I have mine in the hallway, made some holes in the wall and put the cables threw it. This way i get some excersise when burning cds ;-)

I have the same "problem" with Audiophile 2496.
I don't think its a real problem. It's funny actually. It sounds like a fart.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I ment that its not a technical problem that effect your sound card prformence

all of you actually dont see or fill this problem

only m audio have this pitch on the thier card's and this pitch is the DC that have no and or were to go so whan you turn off your pc the DC from your card comes up and this is the pitch that you talking about ,and this is a problem in the compeny that made those card's

sounds like one of yours fans is getting old and dusty. be careful, you should replace it before it dies and overheat.
