That is a neat map. Perhaps we can do a little more West? I figure that is nine years from now. I'll be somewhere along that line.

nice map.....
I vote Missouri. Its central to the US, has 2 cheap equidistant airports to fly too...
oh and the line of totality crosses almost directly over the farm i live on there and the current venue Sacred Sounds is using
Logical Light Music - SF
Straylight Productions -SF
Sound/Mind - Denver
Xcience - Midwest
mixes for dl at :

I've been wondering who's going to step up also. 2017 is going to be a great year. You can never start planning too early. Since the path crosses the entire country there will likely be many festivals. My vote is for eastern Oregon for maximum dryness and likelihood of visibility.
It's unfortunate that the maximum umbra is when the shadow passes Kentuky.
Still 2 minutes 9 seconds in OR would be fine with me.
But 2 minutes 39 seconds over the farm in Missouri that paradigm speaks of sounds nice also...
So who's stepping up? |

I checked the Nasa map too. Not sure if Meta lives in Kentucky, but Kentucky is actually going to be at the point of greatest eclipse. Other factor to look for is mean cloudiness that time of year. |

Well now that someone mentions it!
There is a ton of acreage I know we could use to build a stage right outside of Danville (Central Kentucky aka podunk sticks)
I have about 50 cousins that I know would be in attendance as well... Haha!!!!
Unlike Meta - I am not kidding!

On this topic does anyone have information about the festivals in Japan in 2009 for the eclipse? (Don't bother going to India; it will be way too cloudy in the summer to see it). So far I've heard about two festivals, but the websites are mostly in Japanese, which doesn't really help. |

jds! How long was the eclipse in Siberia or wherever it is that you just got back from? Was there a group of you there? Or maybe you made it for a trance party on the path?
Paradigm already has a place on the line? Right on the line, or just real close to it? Right on it makes for one hell of a fluke, or somebody was checking the charts years ago and picked it for some reason.
I just realized that my icon picture is about as far from an eclipse of the solar type as you can get! Setting moon with the sunrise the day after a full moon. Close to a lunar eclipse though.

awww come on! Kentucky is beautiful too. Besides i'm spent much of my life there. In 10 years time whatever's left of the psychedelic trance scene, since no doubt it will have evolved into many fractals, can realize that this is spittin' distance to most of the population- especially those rabid stompers in Iowa!!! god bless 'em. Eventually I hope that Kentucky will have stompers too since currently I count the number of doofers on my hand. Actually I was first exposed to psytrance by a group of promoters in Louisville who threw the 1999 Instellar Dreamfest which included the UK Phantasm Records crew (including Mumbo Jumbo)- that was my moment!
I just hope i'm not dead by then.
