We need Polls

It just crossed my mind that if we add a "poll" option when making threads, the traffic in teh site will grow exponentialy. more traffic more people checking teh adds, more dollar.
+ the forum will be filled with multiple stupid polls of wich artist has the best 808 rim shot/clap, 909 snare, darkest hi-hat, golden rays and so on.
My suggestion is made of win and you know this.

Actually the single click idea sounds pretty interesting. No more wading through paragraphs of explanation, feelings, reasoning, ranting etc for what will amount to a statistic.
In fact, the entire Trance section can be a set of polls for various topics and simply represented by stats. The inclusion of image and music embedding would be all that's needed to get the gist of every topic. Perfect!
I'm not even being sarcastic, I think it's a cool idea.

I think some topics may benefit from this and some will lose. Topics where there is usually some info/opinion by the OP, followed by an endless list of “Killargh!” and “Sux!” should be converted to polls. The Reviews forum will definitely benefit from that. Free Music forum (where there is usually no detailed description of music presented) will benefit even more. Especially if there is a way to look a bit beyond the final statistic if you want to – like a list of who voted Aye and who voted Nay (because by now you may know people with tastes similar or opposite to yours).
On the other hand, topics where people argue their points (like the endless “should we call darkpsy dark” saga) will not benefit from a vote like this, as results will just reflect an overall proportion of members with strong opinions about the topic.
Cool idea. I don’t know how difficult it is to implement, though. Does the value added justify the effort needed?

Yes.. this subject is going on for a long time like ak47 pointed out. maybe with the new forum feature this could also be brought up. the question is how it could be worked on.
My options are:-
A separate section of polling with every user permitted to post a creative poll once in 30 days. like how it happens with top-10 section...or a monthly or bi-weekly poll assembled by the team where all users can vote or threads which can be used to discuss and also use the subject topic for polling. Both discussion and polling can happen simultaneously.
Keeping a check on stipulations and regulations of a worthy poll.
